This is a Culture Wars stand-alone short story. Returning from the war, Edwin thinks about the relationship he once had in college and how it was lost to him forever. In 2228, as the Culture Wars were beginning, Edwin found himself falling for the fragile and vulnerable Jesse, a fellow student. As dark winds of political change swept across the nation, Jesse’s fear grew and Edwin watched the man he loved become consumed by obsession and terror. Reminiscing on the past, Edwin decides to return to the place where it all began – underneath the university’s willow tree, to see if he can find a resolution to the ghost of a love that has haunted him for fifteen long years.
I’ve revamped an old story called Perfect Drug. In this short story, David and Sam are scientists working together on a cure for cancer while struggling to keep their personal lives and relationships intact. When they make a massive breakthrough, they find there are forces at work who don’t want the research to proceed. Facing a choice between his life’s work and the man who has stood at his side, what will David choose to protect?
[Warnings: allusions to rape, slavery, human trafficking]
Julian Lindholm stood on the balcony above the warehouse floor, assessing the scene through the scope of the sniper rifle he held in his hands. Below him, young men were being escorted onto a stage at gunpoint. Some were wounded, most of them naked, all of them cowed and quiet.
Slaves, Julian thought. So my contact was right. The Cartel have been running a slave auction out of this warehouse.
Tony Albion sighed as he threw the last of the pallets on the pile and brushed his hands together. He stalked out of the storeroom and headed to the break room, where he opened his locker and grabbed his bag. He slammed the locker door shut and made a beeline for the exit.
“Hey, Tony.” A male voice stopped him in his tracks and he turned.
“What is it, John? I just want to get out of here,” Tony sighed.
“Nigel called off again for tomorrow,” John said. “That’s three days now. Says he’s sick.”
Every book has a story, but it’s not always just the one contained inside its pages. This book, while relatively unremarkable, is a reminder to me of the value of ideas, and the great fear I have that someday, people will no longer value imagination, knowledge and fiction.
In this 15,000 word standalone prequel to the Culture Wars series, the year is 2228, ten years before Written In The Stars. A new world is rising for Alex Markham as he watches a Moral League candidate win the election for State Governor. His home city of Topeka, Kansas is about to change in ways he’d never imagined. Only he and his partner Blake Madison stand in the way of the governor using the law to punish the GLBT community of Topeka. As dark times threaten their jobs and even their lives, will Alex and Blake have the courage to stand up for what they believe while coming to terms with their feelings for one another?

Michael sighed as he pulled into the gas station. The wipers on his car whirred as they pushed away the rain that was collecting on the windshield. He opened the car door, ducking out into the rain and over to the pump, where he swiped his credit card. He picked up the nozzle and selected his grade, feeling the rain soaking him as the fuel steadily pumped into the gas tank. He silently cursed the gas station’s decision to take down the canopy for renovations as a drop of warm rain trailed down his back.
My latest project, yaoi novel Hearts On Fire, is going to begin tomorrow.
Here’s how it works:
-New chapters will be posted here as and when they are written.
-Chapters will remain up until seven days after the entire novel is finished.
-Book will then be published in paperback, for purchase.
-Chapters will be raw, unedited (but spellchecked!) content.
-I encourage comments as the work is in progress.
Hearts On Fire is going to be about two guys who embark on an affair. One is married with a daughter, the other single and lonely, waiting for the right guy to come along. It’s going to get messy! I hope you will read it.
