I received a copy of this short story when it was free on Amazon.
Dragoste Academy is home to all kinds of supernatural students. Bayne is a werewolf who, on the night of the full moon, meets dryad Lucas out in the forest. Lucas initially wants nothing to do with Bayne, having been burned by love before, but Bayne is determined to make the dryad look his way.
Bayne and Lucas is a cute little story set in the Dragoste Academy. It’s a good start for a school M/M romance series, but stands alone as a very short story. I would have liked to know more about the Academy, but Morgan gives us the details we need to enjoy this short.
I wasn’t that emotionally invested in something this short, but it was competent enough as the start of a series. I could easily see Bayne and Lucas expanded into a full-size novel in the future, detailing more of their relationship than just the very beginning.
Bayne and Lucas certainly isn’t a bad choice if you’re looking for a short read. It left me wanting more, which isn’t a bad thing, but it didn’t particularly wow me in any way, shape or form. If school stories are really your cup of tea, you might really get a kick out of this, though.
